WATCH: Viente Talks About New Video ‘Lasing’

Viente recently released their latest music video for ‘Lasing’. Viente‘s new single titled ‘Lasing’ tells a story of someone who cares for their special one even if that someone is already in love with another person. Being there in their highs and lows, being selfless and never expecting but still hoping. Wondering why despite the sacrifices, that special someone still doesn’t love them back. As the lyric states ‘Mahirap ba kong mahalin?

The inspiration behind the music video started after a few months following the release of Viente‘s first music video titled ‘Huli’. Pitching the idea of a sequel, there were more than one potential unreleased song to do the part. The story of the sequel would vary depending on the song to be used. Incidentally, Russel (the band’s bassist), during that time was not a member of Viente, was having a conversation with Freddie (band’s front man) about the struggles of being a “rebound”.Time passed, the song was finished. Only after the near end of the following year it was recorded. Jana Jimenez, acting director of the music video, along with her friends backing her up, was introduced to Viente by Jarred (leading man in Viente’s music videos). Viente pitched about doing a sequel that would show another side of the story. The story of the girl’s one sided love linking to Huli’s male character.

Viente‘s music focuses on different takes on rock. Mixing and trying different branches of rock to fit in one song. Lyricwise, their songs tend to be sad love songs or in other words ‘hugot’ songs but not limited to it.
