Midwest quintet Makena have announced their signing to LA-based label Famined Records, and to celebrate the news have debuted their brand new single, “𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐄”.
Bringing R&B vibes to the table, incredible cleans and catchy melodies combined with heartfelt lyrics, Makena dive right into that emotional side of Alternative Rock that gets to your core, because of the lyrics, because of the vocals, and because it hits a little too close to home for a lot of us. Drawing comparisons and influence from bands such as Slaves, Jonny Craig and Emarosa, Makena don’t shy away from showing vulnerability in their latest effort, and open up for the world to see their pain. Because carrying it alone is never easy.
“Methane encompasses the immediate feelings of anger, confusion, and sadness following any breakup. Sometimes, we give our partners everything we have to give and unfortunately, sometimes that simply isn’t enough. It can leave you wondering why you weren’t good enough or questioning what things could have been done differently. In life, we often think those who we date will be with us forever. All too often those who are with us are only here for a short time only for us to live our lives until we find the next one.”
Dom Cuzzo, vocals
