“Another world. Another place to be…”

Perhaps the return of France’s metal kings Gojira was just what we needed this 2020. Their new single “Another World” is the long-awaited follow-up to their Grammy-nominated 2016 album “Magma“.

Leading up to its release, the band uploaded two 50-second clips earlier this week of what looked like animated spaceship control panels. Naturally, this led to wide-speculation among fans that it might be new material after four, long years. And, needless to say, they weren’t wrong. It was indeed new material.

“Another World” is as Gojira as it gets. Heavy and progressive, yet groovy enough with added quirks to make you dance along and with it, the band also released an accompanying animated music video whose art style is somewhat reminiscent of the “Borderlands” video game series so this one is for all you video game enthusiasts as well!
