The first original track from Songs That Saved My Life reminds us all what’s “Worth Living For”

Trigger warning: Suicide, self-harm, depression

Just hold on and breathe awhile. Just stay here…

Today is September 10th. Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.

In honor of this, the Songs That Saved My Life project has returned featuring its first ever original song entitled “Worth Living For”.

Songs That Saved My Life is a project centered around music that played a pivotal role in the lives of artists and fans that benefits mental health and suicide prevention charities. Everyone has music that helped them through a tough time. It looks to engage current artists with cover versions of those songs and share those stories with the world.

The song is based on a spoken word poem by writer and spoken word artist Levi The Poet and was made in collaboration with music producer and DJ, Said The Sky and solo musician Olivver The Kid.

All proceeds from the song will go to To Write Love On Her Arms. TWLOHA is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. It exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and invest directly into treatment and recovery.

Recently, Said The Sky and To Write Love On Her Arms asked fans to submit photos and videos to create a video for the song.

Said The Sky (a.k.a. Trevor Christensen) comments:

In honor of World Suicide Prevention Day, I partnered with TWLOHA, Levi The Poet, Olivver The Kid, and Songs That Saved My Life to amplify the conversation and take action to reverse the growing rate of suicide.

In hopes of creating something beautiful, I asked you to share the moments that make your life worth living for.
