REVIEW: Saving Vice – BINARY [EP]

American metalcore group Saving Vice are back with a self-produced new EP that is sure to knock every metalcore fan’s socks off when they listen to this two-song monstrosity.

REVIEW:

Rating: 4.5 / 5
For fans of: Within Destruction, Crystal Lake, Slaughter To Prevail

What struck me the most with this two-song EP by Saving Vice was how much it only took for me to love it at first listen.

By the end of the first song (“The Simulation”), consider me a fan. By the middle of the second track (“The Spire”), I absolutely wanted more and could not wait to dive into the rest of the band’s discography.

BINARY” showcases what I could only describe as a wonderful mastery of the metalcore and deathcore genres. With just two songs, the band displayed the ability to seamlessly utilize everything great about those two forms of music and create two tracks that are sure to leave great lasting impressions on the listener. Technicality? Check. Breakdowns? Check. Monstrous vocal deliveries by two vocalists that mesh well together? Check. Crowdkill-inducing song structures? Also, check.

This two-song EP (still blows my mind) has it all and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is an avid fan of the ‘core genres like me.
