Metalcore band Vatic unleash solemn new single ‘The Colour In Your Eyes’

Melbourne Metalcore outfit, Vatic, share a solemn side to their forthcoming EP with new single “The Colour In Your Eyes“, streaming today via Kill Your Stereo. The new track is third to drop from forthcoming concept EP ‘Mercer 217‘, which delves into a haunting tale that will see its full release Friday October 21.

Produced, mixed and mastered by Nick Sjogren (Thornhill), “The Colour In Your Eyes” follows a tale that began with “217” and continued with No Sleep. “The Colour In Your Eyes” tells the story of Chance’s first victim. The song describes the solemn realization of the crime this character has committed, and provides an insight on what went through Chance’s mind following the unthinkable.

No Sleep” was a short thundering tune that lead to grimy realizations – it’s hunt or be hunted, where “217” released in March and established the haunting setting in which the narrative takes place. More information on the narrative here.

“217 sets the scene around a haunted house, where most of our story happens. There are holes in the walls and floors where bodies are hiding, their souls wandering and tormenting the house, never sleeping.”

Vocalist Matt Payne

About Vatic:

Beginning in 2018, Vatic have built their foundations creating sonically dark and gloomy backdrops that balance their bittersweet, melodic choruses with aggressive and tormented screams. The band exists with the longstanding lineup of Matt Payne (vocals), Dylan Houston (drums) , Zakary Luttrell (bass/vocals), Dinesh Wolfe (guitar) and Adam Bonnefin (guitar). The quintet have expanded their following with the help of their electric live show, where they have previously joined the likes of Australian alternative heavyweights including Thornhill, Bloom, Diamond Construct, Void of Vision, Pridelands and more.

The quintet have developed and refined their sound over the years, placing their listeners in a daze of melancholic atmosphere and unrelenting guitar riffs that pierce through the guise of industrial breakdowns and grooves, giving plenty more to be expected from Vatic in 2022.
