Over the succeeding years of fermenting their song, metalcore band ASTRA dropped their long-awaited debut single ‘Open Your Eyes.’ ASTRA introduce and dedicate Open Your Eyes as an evocative representation of the holistic mental health experience of the human person. The whole song provides major emphasis on the reality brought upon by depression, such as feelings of sorrow, despondency, melancholy, and self-sabotage. However, amidst all the trials and tribulations, the song thoroughly expresses that one can be triumphant over depression through sheer mental and emotional fortitude.

ASTRA underwent a full do-it-yourself path in recording their single “Open Your Eyes”. Despite the significant budget limitation and limited gear setback, they were proudly able to produce a high-quality music production. The chronological recording process goes as: guitar/s, drums, bass, vocals, and post-production stuff which all were done and recorded in the comfort of their respective homes without any fancy recording equipment.

Founded on the 159th day of the 2020 A.D (June 7, 2020), the band sets out on a musical journey to innovate, further explore, and define the future of the metalcore genre.

Just as the name suggests, stars shine the brightness while at the same time emitting an enormous amount of energy, which is the perfect literal and metaphorical core idea of the band’s identity as they are fueled by their fiery passion for music.
