Ernest:Hope released his debut music video for ‘The Pineapple Incident’. In this recent interview we did, he talked about what was the story behind the song, the video and what’s in store for Ernest:Hope.
Finite: Hi Ernest:Hope. Please tell us something about your song “The Pineapple Incident”.
Ernest:Hope: Hello Finite Fam! I wrote TPI before I even came up with Ernest:Hope. This song basically talks about not giving so much worries. As long as you and your other half stay strong, everything will be fine. The title is inspired by an episode from the TV show How I Met Your Mother wherein Ted (Protagonist) had to figure out why a pineapple was on his bedside table after a long night of partying. I won’t say anymore, I suggest you watch it for yourself. HAHA!
Finite: What was the inspiration for the music video?
Ernest:Hope: Basically we were inspired to create the most simple music video and really try to capture natural human emotion. Partly inspired by This Wild Life’s work, we had to incorporate different ideas. A million thanks to Cityboy Creatives for helping us film the entire thing, and especially to Eunice Villena for making the whole thing possible.
Finite: The Pineapple Incident music video was posted last week, how was the viewers reaction so far?
Ernest:Hope: We’ve received positive feedback from the viewers even outside my social circle which is very humbling as this is our first music video ever released. We are happy that despite all the problems or trials we are facing today, love still wins at the end.
Finite: Lastly, what can we expect from Ernest:Hope this year?
Ernest:Hope: As of now, we are trying to record our second single which is a collaboration with Australian based electronic artist joe:chu. We are open for shows all year round and hopefully also record a full lenght EP or short album.
