IXIA, a metalcore band from Jakarta, Indonesia are back with a more darker music. They recenty released a new music video of their new single ‘Vahara‘ on Youtube. On this new single, IXIA tried to talk about how sucks it is to be underestimated by others, how every action and effort are never enough. It is something that is very relevant to lots of people, especially young adults who need to deal with many things, like their daily job, friendship, and relationship.
“Vahara” itself is a combination of two words Vaha and Hara which means ‘The Destroyer’. This word was chosen, because when someone underestimates others, it is tantamount to destroying all hopes and struggles that have been put in place”
Vito (bass, vocals)
“I don’t think IXIA has every made a song like this. Not many metal bands dare to give a very soft touch in the middle of a song that is already superbly fast and frenetic,”
Hamdy (guitar)
On doing the music production, Hamdy tries to explore more by giving fast and stomping tone progressions. However, when entering the chorus, the pitch progression becomes very slow and airy. Alby, a DJ from Jakarta, also helped IXIA on making ‘Vahara’. Alby gave a touch of electronic music and trance in the background of the song. Alby’s touch seems to represent the mood and anger of someone who is underestimated by others.
