NYC power pop group Dizzy Bats are back with a new track this January 22nd!
Entitled “Alone”, the new track came about after vocalist Connor Frost experienced days where the only people he would talk to were clients and his pet cat. In his isolation he wrote about the feeling and act of being pent up in a confined space, worrying about how life is being perceived, and whether or not there will be an end to loneliness.
Track Review:
Rating: 3.5/5
In recent years, it seems like a lot of bands often look to the sounds of the 90’s and the early 2000’s either for the nostalgia or out of pure inspiration. Eitherway, I am not one to complain.
There’s something about the music from that time that somehow easily manages to remain in listeners’ hearts no matter what generation one is from and Dizzy Bats‘ new track “Alone” is a wonderful take that manages to capture that essence of nostalgia 2 decades later not just in its overall musicality but also in its message.
Touching on the topic of loneliness, I do think that “Alone” can be quite the relevant track for us especially with all we have experienced this past year due to the pandemic and its tastefully-made instrumentals and soaring, emo-ish vocals make for one cool pairing that serves a whole lot of that aforementioned nostalgia that we all know and love. It’s a track that gets inside your head and makes you cannot get enough of it. Definitely look out for more from this group!
